Engraved in magnificent style and spectacularly well preserved, this piece undoubtedly possesses the most remarkable portrait of Caracalla that we have yet encountered. Every detail, from the emperor's overlapping scale armour cuirass to his neatly arranged hair, beard and moustache, is rendered with great finesse.
