Sicily, Syracuse AR Tetradrachm. Deinomenid Tyranny. Time of Hieron I, circa 480/78-475 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron and reins, driving slow quadriga right; Nike flying right above, crowning horses / Head of Arethusa right, wearing earring, necklace and headband, her hair tied in a krobylos; ΣVRΑKΟΣΙΟΝ and four dolphins around. Boehringer 122E (V55E/R82); Randazzo 276. 17.17g, 25mm, 9h.

Near Very Fine. Planchet flaw at 12 o'clock on obv.
